On Friday 8th of November, the anarchist comrade Vangelis Stathopoulos is arrested by the Greek Anti-terrorist Service with the excuse that he took part on a robbery in a gaming agency in Holargos, Athens on the 21st of October. During the next day of his arrest, within a crescendo of terror-hysteria reaction, he is suddenly being announced that he is also accused of participating in the organization "Revolutionary Self-defense". Our comrade's arrest is accompanied with an alloy of radio and mud towards his face, from the government's right hand, the massive media, through various press publications and television reports which reproduce fabricated accusations and present him as the "domestic terrorist" and "the Kung Fu teacher who gives classes of military defense in order to create an army".

Τhroughout the whole period of his pre-trial detention, we witness the "theater of the absurd" which the Anti-terrorist Service and the Ministry of Citizen Protection has carelessly set up, since every single clue that they are trying to present is shaked down – DNA tests, accusations for specific attacks of the "Revolutionary defense" organization during which the comrade was in prison for a prior case,  supposed evidence for his participation in the robbery while at the specific time he was teaching in his martial arts' school in the center of Athens, and so on...

From the first moment of his arrest, our comrade is denying  the accusations, both of the robbery and his participation in the "Revolutionary defense" organization, and as he has personally stated: "All this spectacle in my face is part of a repressive policy of the current government against the anarchists and the anarchist movement. The authorities spread lies for the way we act as anarchists; basically I have been charged with half of the criminal code simply because I showed solidarity in an injured person.Under the spectrum of solidarity I admit that I have helped a person who was injured. I am an anarchist, I am an active member of the anarchist movement... I deny all the accusations for the robbery and the "revolutionary defense".

Our comrade's trial starts on the 17st of March, 2021. The specific accusations he has been charged with are of a criminal character (I.e. participation on armed robbery and participation on a criminal organization), At the same time he is being called to raise a huge amount of money for his court fees, during a period of generalized precariousness and crisis,with unpaid employees, with meager allowances of 534 euro and the launch of unemployed people in the country, whilst public events for solidarity and financial support are impossible for us.

Having completed 1.5 years of pre-trial detention without any evidence to justify it, and having suffered professionally and financially, he continues to fight within the walls,in the first line on the fight of prisoners in Larissa prisons regarding the management of Covid-19, but also more recently, by going on hunger strike in solidarity with the revolutionary Dimitris Koufontinas.The only incriminating evidence against our comrade is the fact that he didn't cooperate with the Anti-terrorist Service, is his anarchist identity, is his long-term participation in the anarchist movement, is his morale that did not bend and the fact that he is still fighting and showing solidarity inside the prison.

Form our side, the side of those outside the walls, we use our most powerful weapon, solidarity, and we won't let any revolutionary alone on the State's hands and its conspiracies.

Την Παρασκευή 8 Νοεμβρίου, συλλαμβάνεται από την αντιτρομοκρατική ο αναρχικός σύντροφος Βαγγέλης Σταθόπουλος με την πρόφαση ότι συμμετείχε σε ληστεία στο Χολαργό στις 21 Οκτωβρίου. Την επόμενη μέρα, μέσα σε ένα κρεσέντο τρομο-υστερίας του ανακοινώνεται ξαφνικά πως κατηγορείται και για συμμετοχή στην οργάνωση «Επαναστατική Αυτοάμυνα». Η σύλληψη του συντρόφου συνοδεύεται, όπως συνηθίζεται, από ένα κράμα διασυρμού και λασπολογίας προς το πρόσωπό του, από το δεξί χέρι της κυβέρνησης, τα καθεστωτικά Μ.Μ.Ε., με δημοσιεύματα και τηλεοπτικά ρεπορτάζ που αναπαράγουν κατασκευασμένα κατηγορητήρια και τον παρουσιάζουν ως τον «εγχώριο τρομοκράτη» και τον «δάσκαλο Kung Fu που παραδίδει μαθήματα πολεμικής άμυνας με σκοπό να φτιάξει στρατό».

Όλη αυτή την περίοδο της προφυλάκισης του συντρόφου μας, γινόμαστε θεατές στο θέατρο του παραλόγου που έχει στήσει με προχειρότητα η αντιτρομοκρατική και το υπουργείο Προ.Πο., αφού κάθε στοιχείο που προσπαθούν να παρουσιάσουν καταρρίπτεται – DNA, κατηγορίες για επιθέσεις της «Επαναστατικής Αυτοάμυνας» κατά τις οποίες ο σύντροφος βρισκόταν στη φυλακή, δήθεν στοιχεία για τη συμμετοχή του στη ληστεία ενώ την ίδια ώρα βρισκόταν στη σχολή WingTzun που διατηρούσε στο κέντρο της Αθήνας.

Από την πρώτη στιγμή της σύλληψης του, ο σύντροφος αρνείται τις κατηγορίες για ληστεία και ένταξή του στην «Επαναστατική Αυτοάμυνα», ενώ όπως τονίζει ο ίδιος σε κομμάτι της «απολογίας» του,''...Όλη αυτή η θεαματικότητα στο πρόσωπό μου είναι στα πλαίσια μιας κατασταλτικής πολιτικής της παρούσας κυβέρνησης ενάντια στους αναρχικούς και στο αναρχικό κίνημα. Οι αρχές λένε συστηματικά ψέματα για τον τρόπο που κινούμαστε και δρούνε οι αναρχικοί, ουσιαστικά μου έχουν φορτώσει το μισό ποινικό κώδικα επειδή έδειξα αλληλεγγύη σε ένα τραυματισμένο άνθρωπο. Στα πλαίσια της αλληλεγγύης αυτής δέχομαι ότι βοήθησα έναν άνθρωπο που ήταν τραυματίας. Εγώ είμαι αναρχικός, συμμετέχω στο αναρχικό κίνημα.... Αρνούμαι όλες τις κατηγορίες και για την ληστεία και για την επαναστατική αυτοάμυνα''.

Η δίκη του συντρόφου ξεκινάει στις 17 Μαρτίου 2021. Oι κατηγορίες που του έχουν απαγγελθεί είναι κακουργηματικού χαρακτήρα (συμμετοχή σε ένοπλη ληστεία και ένταξη σε τρομοκρατική οργάνωση), ενώ παράλληλα καλείται να συγκεντρώσει ένα τεράστιο χρηματικό ποσό για τα δικαστικά του έξοδα, σε μια χρονική περίοδο γενικευμένης επισφάλειας και κρίσης, με απλήρωτους/ες εργαζόμενους/ες, με πενιχρά επιδόματα των 534 ευρω και εκτόξευση των ανέργων, ενώ οι δημόσιες εκδηλώσεις αλληλεγγύης και οικονομικής ενίσχυσης για εμάς είναι ανέφικτες

Έχοντας συμπληρώσει ενάμιση χρόνο προφυλάκισης χωρίς κανένα απολύτως στοιχείο που να τη δικαιολογεί και έχοντας πληγεί επαγγελματικά και οικονομικά, συνεχίζει να αγωνίζεται εντός των τειχών, βρισκόμενος στην πρώτη γραμμή του αγώνα των κρατουμένων στις φυλακές Λάρισας σχετικά με την διαχείριση του Covid-19, αλλά και πιο πρόσφατα, κάνοντας απεργία πείνας σε ένδειξη αλληλεγγύης στον αγωνιστή Δημήτρη Κουφοντίνα. Τα μοναδικά «ενοχοποιητικά στοιχεία» σε βάρος του συντρόφου μας είναι το γεγονός ότι δεν συνεργάστηκε με την αντιτρομοκρατική, είναι η αναρχική του ταυτότητα, είναι η πολύχρονη συμμετοχή του στο αναρχικό κίνημα, είναι το ηθικό του που δεν κάμφθηκε και που ακόμα και μέσα από την φυλακή συνεχίζει να αγωνίζεται και να δείχνει την αλληλεγγύη του.

Από την πλευρά των εκτός των τειχών, χρησιμοποιούμε το δυνατότερο όπλο μας, την αλληλεγγύη και δεν αφήνουμε κανέναν αγωνιστή/ρια μόνο/η στα χέρια του κράτους και των σκευωριών του.

Vendredi 8 novembre 2019, le camarade anarchiste Vangelis Stathopoulos est arrêté par la section antiterroriste au motif de sa participation à un vol qui a lieu le 21 octobre 2019 à Holargos (ville de la banlieue d’Athènes). Le lendemain de son arrestation, dans une ambiance de terreur hystérique, il est soudainement aussi accusé de faire partie de « l’organisation d’autodéfense révolutionnaire ». L’arrestation du camarade s’accompagne, comme il est d’usage maintenant, de propos diffamatoires, avec la volonté de le salir portés par les médias devenus la main droite du gouvernement, avec des publications et reportages l’accusant et le présentant comme un « terroriste local » et comme « le maître Kung-Fu qui enseigne la défense de guerre afin de construire une armée ».

Tout au long de la détention provisoire de notre camarade, nous sommes devenus spectateurs d’un théâtre de l’irrationnel, mis en place avec négligence par la section antiterroriste et le Ministère de la défense, chaque élément de preuve présenté ayant été réfuté : ADN, des accusations d’attaques perpétrées par « l’organisation d’autodéfense révolutionnaire » alors que le camarade était en prison, ainsi que des preuves amenées par la section antiterroriste alors qu’il était au moment même du vol de Holargos à l’école Wing Tzun dont il a la gestion, dans le centre d’Athènes.

Dès son arrestation, le camarade a nié sa participation au vol ainsi qu’à son ralliement à « l’organisation d’autodéfense révolutionnaire » comme il le souligne dans une partie de « ses excuses ».

« Tout ce spectacle me concernant prend place, dans le cadre de la politique actuelle du gouvernement, répressive à l’encontre des anarchistes et du mouvement anarchiste. Les autorités mentent systématiquement sur la façon dont les anarchistes se déplacent et agissent, elles m’ont chargé de la moitié du code pénal parce que j’ai montré ma solidarité à une personne blessée. Dans le cadre de cette solidarité, j’accepte d’avoir aidé un homme blessé, je suis anarchiste, je participe au mouvement anarchiste… Je nie toutes les accusations de vol, ainsi que celles liées aux actions d’autodéfense révolutionnaire »

Les charges retenues contre Vangelis Stathopoulos sont d’ordre criminelles (participation à un vol à main armée et son appartenance à une organisation criminelle), dans ce même temps, il est obligé de réunir une somme conséquente pour payer ses frais de justice, dans une période de précarité généralisée et de crise, avec des travailleur.e.s non rémunéré.e.s, touchant de maigres allocations de 534 euros et l’explosion du nombres de chômeurs, alors que les manifestations publiques de solidarité et soutien financier nous sont impossibles (en temps de pandémie.)

Vangelis Stathopoulos a passé un an et demi en détention provisoire, avec aucune preuve à son encontre, ayant souffert professionnellement et financièrement, il continue de se battre entre les murs de sa cellule, se trouvant en première ligne de la lutte des détenus de la prison de Larissa concernant la gestion du Covid-19, mais aussi plus récemment en entamant une grève de la faim en solidarité avec le combattant Dimitris Koufontinas. La seule « preuve incriminante » contre notre camarade et qu’il n’ait pas coopéré avec la section antiterroriste, et c’est son identité anarchiste, c’est sa participation, depuis de nombreuses années, au mouvement anarchiste qui sont attaquées, son moral n’a pas baissé et même en prison, il continue de se battre et montre sa solidarité.

De la part de ceux qui sont en dehors des murs, nous utilisons notre arme la plus puissante : la solidarité, et nous ne laissons aucun combattant.e seul.e entre les mains de l’état et de ses complots.

El Viernes 8 de Noviembre 2019, el compañero anarquista Vangelis Stathopoulos fue detenido en Atenas con el pretexto de haber participado en un robo en Holargos el 21 de octubre del mismo año. Al día siguiente, en un crescendo de''terror-histeria'', de repente se anuncia que también se le acusa de participar en la organización "Autodefensa Revolucionaria". La detención del compañero va acompañada, como es habitual, de una aleación de difamación, calumnia y barro  en su persona, por las Autoridades Policiales, el Gobierno y los medios de comunicación del régimen, con reportajes y reportajes televisivos que reproducen acusaciones fabricadas y lo retratan como el "terrorista nacional" y el "maestro de Kung Fu que enseña defensa de guerra para construir un ejército".

Desde el primer momento de su detención, el compañero niega las acusaciones de robo y de afiliación a la "Autodefensa Revolucionaria", mientras que, como enfatiza en parte de su "disculpa", ...Todo este espectáculo en mi persona es parte de una política represiva del actual gobierno contra los anarquistas y el movimiento anarquista. Las autoridades mienten sistemáticamente sobre la forma en que se mueven y actúan los anarquistas, básicamente me han cargado con la mitad del código penal porque me solidarice con una persona herida. Como parte de esta solidaridad, acepto que ayudé a un hombre que resultó herido. Soy anarquista, participo del movimiento anarquista ... Niego todas las acusaciones tanto de robo como de Autodefensa Revolucionaria ''.

Los cargos en su contra son criminales, mientras que al mismo tiempo está llamado a recaudar una enorme suma de dinero para sus costas judiciales, en un período de precariedad y crisis generalizada, con trabajadores no remunerados, con exiguas dietas de 534 euros y el despido de desempleados, mientras los actos públicos de solidaridad y ayuda para nosotros es imposible.

Habiendo cumplido año y medio de prisión preventiva sin pruebas que lo justifiquen y habiendo sufrido profesional y económicamente, sigue luchando en la cárcel. Está al frente de la lucha de los presos en la cárcel de Larissa por la gestión del Covid-19, haciendo una huelga de hambre en solidaridad con el luchador Dimitris Koufontinas. La única "prueba incriminatoria" contra nuestro compañero es el hecho de que no cooperó con el antiterrorista, es su identidad anarquista, es su moral la que no se doblegó y que incluso desde la cárcel sigue luchando y mostrando su solidaridad.

Por nuestra parte, fuera de los muros de la prisión, usamos nuestra arma más fuerte, la solidaridad y no dejamos a ningún luchador solo en manos del Estado y sus conspiraciones.

Am Freitag, den 8. November, wurde der anarchistische Genosse Vangelis Stathopoulos von der Anti-Terror-Polizei unter dem Vorwand verhaftet, an einem Raubüberfall in Cholargos am 21. Oktober teilgenommen zu haben. Am nächsten Tag wurde in einem Crescendo von Terror und Hysterie plötzlich bekannt gegeben, dass er auch für die Beteiligung an der Organisation „Revolutionäre Selbstverteidigung“ beschuldigt wird. Die Verhaftung des Genossen wurde üblicherweise von einer Mischung aus Verleumdung und Hetze gegen ihn durch die rechte Hand der Regierung, den systemischen Medien, begleitet, mit Artikeln und Reportagen die gemachte Anschuldigungen wiedergeben haben und ihn als den "einheimischen Terroristen" und den „Kung-Fu-Lehrer, der Trainingsstunden zur militärischer Verteidigung gibt, um eine Armee aufzubauen“ darstellten.

In der Zeit der Verhaftung unseres Genossen wurden wir Zuschauer eines Theaters, das die Antiterrorpolizei und das Ministerium für öffentliche Sicherheit auf schlampigste Weise inszeniert haben, bei welchem jedes Beweisstück, das sie zu präsentieren versuchten, entfiel - DNA, Anschuldigungen für Angriffe der „Revolutionären Selbstverteidigung“, die stattgefunden haben während der Genosse im Gefängnis war, angebliche Beweise für seine Beteiligung an dem Raubüberfall, während er sich zur Zeit in der von ihm geleiteten WingTzun-Schule im Zentrum von Athen befand, usw.

Vom ersten Moment seiner Verhaftung an bestreitet der Genosse die Vorwürfe des Raubes und der Beteiligung an der „Revolutionären Selbstverteidigung“, während er in seiner Verteidigungsrede betont, dass das Spektakel rund um sein Gesicht im Zusammenhang mit einer repressiven Politik der gegenwärtigen Regierung gegenüber Anarchist*innen und der anarchistischen Bewegung steht. „Die Behörden lügen systematisch über die Art und Weise, wie wir Anarchisten uns bewegen und verhalten, im Grunde haben sie mir das halbe Strafgesetzbuch aufgesetzt, weil ich mich mit einem verletzten Mann solidarisiert habe. Im Rahmen dieser Solidarität gebe ich zu, dass ich einem Mann geholfen habe, der verletzt war. Ich bin ein Anarchist, ich bin Teil der anarchistischen Bewegung.... Ich weise alle Anschuldigungen ab, sowohl des Raubes als auch der revolutionären Selbstverteidigung.“

Die Anklagen gegen ihn sind verbrecherischer Natur (Teilnahme an einem bewaffneten Raubüberfall und Mitgliedschaft in einer terroristischen Vereinigung), während er eine enorme Geldsumme für die Prozesskosten aufbringen muss, in Zeiten genereller Ungewissheit und Krise, mit unbezahlten Arbeitern, mageren Sozialleistungen von 534€ und einem Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit, während Veranstaltungen für Solidarität und finanzielle Unterstützung unmöglich sind.

Seit anderthalb Jahren befindet sich Vangelis Stathopoulos ohne jegliche Beweise in Untersuchungshaft, ist dadurch beruflich und finanziell betroffen, kämpft aber weiterhin innerhalb der Mauern, indem er an der Spitze des Kampfes der Gefangenen im Larissa-Gefängnis bezüglich des Umgamgs mit Covid-19 steht und kürzlich in Solidarität mit dem Kampf des Revolutionären Dimitris Koufontinas in den Hungerstreik trat. Die einzigen „belastenden Daten“ gegenüber unseres Genossen sind die Tatsache, dass er nicht mit der Anti-Terror-Polizei kooperiert hat, seine anarchistische Identität, seine langjährige Teilnahme an der anarchistischen Bewegung, seine Moral, die nicht geknickt wurde und seine fortgeführten Kämpfe und Solidarität vom Gefängnis aus.

Von der Seite derer, die außerhalb der Mauern stehen, setzen wir unsere stärkste Waffe ein, die Solidarität, und lassen keinen Genossen allein in den Händen des Staates und seiner Machenschaften.
